Fender Musical Instruments and Gibson each donated special guitars to be auctioned during the Tribute Show. The silent auction was conducted via this web site, email, and telephone. Winners were notified directly.
To avoid any confusion, these guitars are no longer available and the auction has been closed since 1998.
Fender donated a blonde Danny Gatton Signature Model Telecaster that Danny himself had played at the Custom Shop some four years earlier. This guitar was autographed by all of the artists prior to the closing of the auction.
Gibson donated a unique J-200 Reissue with a special pearl inlay in the fretboard inscribed "Danny Gatton". Gibson recognized that the J-200 models were Danny's favorite acoustic. Danny played a J-200 live between 1992 and 1994 during an acoustic medley of tunes.
